Meeting Minutes
Minutes from last meeting - A correction was noted to the previous minutes regarding the aircraft running out of left rudder trim in cruise. The minutes were corrected to note that this is an issue in 75R and not 144.
Treasurer's Report-There is $3,100 in checking plus outstanding deposits. Jim noted that during the Winter we tend to fly less and that it would be good practice to keep a reserve in the checking account during this season.
Jim noted for new members that the club agreed some time ago to forego detailed monthly statements. The treasurer sends out a simple monthly balance report via e-mail. Detailed reports are provided to members on a quarterly basis.
Jim was asked to keep track of which members are current (1 flight hour within the last 90days in the aircraft). Jim will send a reminder to members if their 90 days currency is going to expire. Members were reminded that currency in 75R also counts toward currency in 144.
Membership report - John and Eric discussed their flying backgrounds and interests. Eric recently received his private pilot certificate on his seventeenth birthday (Congratulations!) and has just begun work on the Instrument rating. There are investigating lower cost alternatives to local rentals.
Hangar and Grounds A search for 150,000 BTU kerosene portable heaters on the Internet identified two different products. Each was approximately $400. Members had reported Home Depot has similar products for $199 which will be investigated.
The floodlights on the ramp side will be checked for replacement and the bulb for the night light will be replaced.
A/C logs-Up to date
75R Another report about the "T" light on comm2 being on continuously. The aircraft is due for the 24 month inspection of the Xpndr and altimeter by the end of December. John, Joe and Jim will organize to fly the plane to Poughkeepsie for the 24 month checks and outstanding electronics squawks.
Jim Welch re-adjusted the rudder trim. No new report on current status. Jim has also adjusted the elevator trim several times. He suggested we may need to replace the components to fix the creeping trim problem.
144 A new ADF knob was installed. The oil change is overdue by 1.7 hours. Mike will schedule the oil change. Jim Welch will be notified that the trim which covers the air filter needs to be replaced.
