Meeting Minutes

9/15/99

Present: Barnewall, Cox, Cusick, Oberg, Schramm, Thompson, Winslow

Guests: Dan Coots, Matthew Cusack, Dave Page, Joel Glickman (all 1st meeting)

President Schramm called the meeting to order at 2006, following a pre-meeting meniton of next monthís program, discussing stall/spin awareness. A tour of the tower is being arranged for a meting in late October or November.

Minutes: The last minutes were e-mailed by Thompson, and were accepted as mailed.

Treasurer: Treasury balance was reported at $1987.54 Statements will be mailed at the end of September.

Membership: 15 Sr., 1 Jr., 4 openings. The Board inrterview and member vote re: Jeff McCarthy was deferred due to Jeff having to go out of town. A re-scheduled vote will be announced. Guests Coots, Cusack, Page and Glickman were introduced. Each is a private pilot with an interest in advancing their training. Cusack is an engineer with Plug Power, Glickman and Page are software engineers/entrepreneurs, and Coots is a photogrammetry specialist with NYS DOT.

Rules & Publicity: The "members-only" passworded section is up. The user name is "upper15", and the password is the same as the hangar door button code. Also, a group mailing list is up. Use members@upper15.org to broadcast messages to all members with e-mail. (NOTE: This address was found to be unmailable by Thompson on 9/20.)

Flight Standards: Members are reminded to send current medical certificates to Bill Cox for our records.

Hangar & Grounds: Thompson will attend to the broken door bolt hanger.

Log Books: Airframe logbooks for both aircraft were reported up to date.

Aircraft9075R: The DME is inoperative, and the #2 nav/comm was reported as intermittent. Also reported as intermittent was the HSI slave function. The aircraft also runs out of left nose trim in cruise.

Aircraft55144: The transponder was reported as intermittently providing the wrong codes to ALB ATC.

Old Business: An interior renovation quote is still in progress of preparation.

New Business: Schramm proposed that we hold a fall Open House event as has been done in past years. Thompson is unable to chair the event due to lack of time in his other lives. He offered to supply Schramm with all forms and flyers used previously. The meeting was adjourned at 2056. Respectfully submitted,
