Meeting Minutes

7/21/99

Present: Barnewall, Cox, Dorgan, Oberg, Rohl, Thompson

Guest: Jim Hibbert (first meeting)

VP Oberg called the meeting to order at 2005.

Minutes: The last minutes were e-mailed by Mike Dorgan, who provided a brief recap of them.

Treasurer: Annual results for fiscal 1999 show an operating surplus of $900, with debt added to finance 75Rís engine.

Membership: 15 Sr., 1 Jr., 4 openings

Rules & Publicity: No report

Hangar & Grounds: Still standing. Thompson tendered his resignation as Hangar & Grounds Chair due to his election as Secretary. Volunteers to succeed him were solicited.

Log Books: Up to date, per Barnewall.

Aircraft55144: The carburetor was rebuilt, with the result that it idles more smoothly. A new compass was also installed. Pilots are asked to check readings carefully to spot any discrepancies that may have crept in.

Aircraft9075R: The turn coordinator is inoperative, and no IFR is permitted pending a fix.

Old Business: None

New Business: Avemco, our insurance company, sent us several safety-related videos, and their periodic customer magazine. Check with Barnewall to borrow them. They may be used for future meeting programs. We will conduct an education/safety presentation at one meeting each month from now on. Program: Bill Cox presented the answers to his e-mailed quiz on airspace regulations. A general discussion of the rules ensued. Mike Dorgan also provided the answer to his e-mail quiz on pilot incapacitation. The correct answer is to notify the NTSB immediatley.

The meeting was adjourned at 2100.
