Rules & Publicity: No report

Hangar & Grounds: No reports of any problems, per Taber. McCarthy suggested that steps be taken to prevent accidental dislodging of the heater extension cords for the two aircraft.

Flight Standards: No Report.

Log Books: Up to date.

Aircraft: 144 Dorgan filed this report: "144 has had an oil change and a tire change. The Loran is at the factory for an estimate of the cost to repair. The mechanic is working on a solution to supplying air to the Loran-apparently it has not been getting cooling air as required."

McCarthy reported that he had flown the aircraft in IMC and was of the opinion that it was nearly unsafe to fly in that regime given the tendency to roll off to the left. He suggested that the prior offer by Tom Sabata of North American Aviation Services to re-rig the plane, or not charge us if he couldn't, be taken up. Murray will pursue the matter with Dorgan for action.

Problems with transmitting on #1 comm were reported. Also, the spare has been up at NA Avionics for several months. It's time to get it back.

Aircraft: 75R Joe Gomez filed this report: "There is not much to report on 75 R this time around. The mechanic felt the exhaust system was not airworthy and we had to order replacement parts for just about all of it. (about $3000 worth). The rest of the 100hrs went OK. We have to replace the "low voltage light." We changed the oil and I got no other squawks before it went in for the 100hrs. The tires are also being changed. No one reported any malfunctions with the radios and in fact there was praise for the way they now work."

The following bears repeating:

Again! Do not add oil if the stick shows 6 qts. or better except when taking a long trip in which case we should not exceed 7 qts. This has been our experience right along with this airplane and its predecessor.

Old Business: Hangar Deal: No report. The Airport Authority was supposed to have approved the deal at its Monday, February 4 meeting.

New Business:

The list of candidates for director not having been submitted with t required one-week notice, an election could not be held. Oberg will e-mail the candidate list to Thompson for distribution to the members, and a vote will be held at the March meeting.

Numerous suggestion and proposals for improving the Club's financial condition and operating prospects were advanced on e-mail prior to the meeting. Murray stated that he would request that the Board form a joint Board/membership committee to study the issues and make recommendations for Board action. Thompson and Barnewall volunteered to represent the membership on that committee.

Mike Ampella, having been interviewed and recommended by the Board (Heslin), was admitted to membership on motion by Thompson, contingent on notification by Dorgan of a favorable final Board vote. We now have a total of 20 members.

The meeting was adjourned at 2058.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom Thompson, Secretary
