Upper Fifteen, Inc.

Meeting Minutes

5/3/00

Present: Barnewall, Dorgan, Gomez, Oberg, Paige, Schramm, Thompson, Winslow

Guests: Mike Murray (2nd meeting); Craig Hammer (1st)

Pres. Schramm called the meeting to order at 2010.

Minutes: A reading was waived. Thompson is searching for his notes, which were mislaid.

Treasurer: $2400.00 in checking, with bills to pay for the 75R 100 hour. Net receivables are $265.00. Bills were distributed on e-mail early this week.

Membership: 15 Sr., 1 Jr., 4 openings.

Rules & Publicity: Minimal publicity, minimal report, per Winslow. A brief discussion of the advantages of advertising the Club was held, without action.

Flight Standards: No report

Hangar & Grounds: The air compressor belt is broken. Gomez was tasked to obtain a replacement.

Log Books: 75R log does not reflect sign-off of 100 hour as annual, thus leaving it out of annual at this date. (Jim Welch visited the hangar later that evening and corrected his entry. 75R last 100 hour is now signed off as an annual inspection.) 144 logs up to date.

Aircraft9075R: The ELT was replaced with a rebuilt unit, hopefully ending its recent, lightly provoked activations.

Aircraft 55144: The DME was reported to die after 15 minutes of operation or so. After turning off, and a short cool-down, it would work again. Be sparing in its use. Some members are tightening the oil filler cap too tight when the engine is warm. This makes it very tough to unscrew when the engine is cold, and the metal has contracted. Don't crank it down too tightly when warm. Thompson reported a 'sticky' HI and an AI that took 15+ flight minutes to fully straighten up. Also the left brake backing plate is fractured and flapping in the breeze in flight.

Old Business: Bob Heslin has bee tasked to write a letter to John Egan, seeking to re-state our previous offer regarding a new hangar. The purpose is to restart the dialogue.

New Business: The Board met and interviewed Mike Murray as a prospective member. On the Board's positive recommendation it was moved and voted to admit Mike Murray as a new member of Upper 15.

The meeting was adjourned at 2109.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom Thompson, Secretary
