VP Oberg called the meeting to order at 2000.
Minutes: The last minutes were distributed on e-mail, and a reading was waived.
Treasurer: Member statements were distributed. We have $2,923 in the bank,
$400 on hand for deposit. Barnewall is working on financial statements for
the first half.
Membership: 15 Sr., 2 Jr., 3 openings. Eric Meichtry submitted his
application for Club membership. Eric is a new private pilot, who passed
his checkride in November 1999 on his 17th birthday. Prez Schramm reported
no other new membership contacts. A Board interview will be scheduled, and
a vote on Eric's membership taken at the next meeting, on 1/19/00. Thompson
noted that Eric's membership application should be coordinated with our
insurance company to ensure coverage, since he is under 18.
Rules & Publicity: Winslow had no new activity to report. Schramm has
listed our Web site with the various major search engines. He reported an
increasing number of site "hits", or visits, recently.
Flight Standards: Nothing to report.
Hangar & Grounds: Options for new heaters were discussed. A new time clock
for the 75R pre-heater was installed, and a circuit breaker problem was
repaired.
Log Books: Upt to date except for latest 144 service.
Aircraft9075R: Scheduled to go to POU on 1/7/00 for statis/pitot check and
a variety of avionics squawks including HSI slaving, DME operation,
"sticky" frequencies, stack mechanical attachment and transponder
certification. Tail shows small dent from having someone back it into 144's
left aileron. See below for more.
Aircraft55144: 100 hr. complete with only minor problems. Windshield
stop-drill is holding. Parts were received for the nosewheel bushing, which
should fix balance of "one-wing-low" problem. Schramm reported running out
of left rudder trim in cruise, and that the attitude indicator may be
beginning to malfunction.
The Left aileron shows 2-3 bent ribs due to having someone back 75R into
it. Our mechanic will examine damage for possible repair. It was discovered
on the Monday morning before Christmas. Dorgan recommends everyone do a
post-flight walkaround to check on any possible damage which may have been
sustained on the ground or in flight.
Old Business: Board elections will be held at the meeting of 1/19/00. The
proposed slate is: Chairman-Dorgan, Vice chair-Rohl, Heslin, Winslow,
Gomez. New computer: After discussion of recommendations, club moved and
approved purchase of a Hewlett-Packard computer for the hangar. Club party:
Date set for February 9th, arrangements and place to be determined. Gomez
is in charge of arrangements.
New Business: Bob Heslin thanked the Club and its members for the kindness
show to him and his family on the occasion of his father's recent death.
