Upper Fifteen Flying Club

Upper Fifteen, Inc. is a flying club which has been based at Albany International Airport for over fifty years. New members do not need to be licensed pilots to join. We're looking for people who are enthusiastic about flying and about continuing to improve their flying skills and experience. Safe flying has been our goal from the very beginning. Our fine safety record stems from responsible and cooperative members, aided by dedicated and experienced instructors.

Upper Fifteen is the one of the oldest flying clubs in New York State and among the oldest in the United States. Founded in 1948 as the Siena College Flying Club, Upper Fifteen today provides highly-equipped aircraft for Capital District pilots

Cessna 182S N9570A

The Club's premier aircraft is a 235 horsepower 1998 Cessna 182S with fuel injection and an adjustable-pitch propeller.  The plane has a service ceiling of 18,000 feet, for fast, cross-country cruising at about 140 knots.  It is outfitted with a Garmin GTN750 touch screen GPS and an Aspen Evolution Pro both of which provide a modern glass cockpit experience.  The plane already complies with the FAA's 2020 mandate for ADS-B out and its equipment allows traffic and weather to be displayed on the large GPS touchscreen.  You can also hook up your Ipad to the airplane via the installed Garmin Flightstream 210 which will allow you to use Foreflight or Garmin Pilot to provide weather, traffic and aircraft attitude indication on your tablet.  Pushing flight plans from your tablet is also supported by Flightstream.  The Aspen and GTN750 allow fully coupled autopilot controlled instrument approaches including LPV WAAS.
